Morgan Ashurst is working on a contract to build a £17m centre for pharmacy and bio-molecular science at the University of Brighton’s Moulsecoomb campus. The lifting equipment used on the job allowed local emergency services the opportunity to simulate an incident in the operator’s cab at the top of a tower crane, and test their procedures in the event of the operator suffering a heart attack or collapse.
Trained crew members from the East Sussex service scaled the 50m structure and rescued the operator from the cab.
