The crane can operate with increased flexibility in environmentally sensitive locations with a minimum of ground disturbance. Freo Cranes said the LTM 1500 offers major advantages compared to the “destructive nature” of a crawler crane.
It has a 50m telescopic boom with a luffing fly of 56m extendable to 91m. The under hook height reaches 145m in the extended luffing configuration. The crane’s lifting capacity covers a range of 500t at 3m radius to 161t at 10m and 37.4t at 40m.
Freo Cranes said the new crane provides a competitive alternative to crawler cranes for the same range of heavy lifts. “It can offer major savings to our customers through improved turn-around mobilisation times and setting-up times,” it added.
The new crane will target both the ongoing operations and construction phases of projects in the resources, energy and infrastructure sectors.
