The company, located at 1926 Spearing Street, has 40,000 square feet of manufacturing and warehousing space, and will manufacture between 10,000 to 20,000 sheaves a year. The company is co-located with J.C Renfroe & Sons, Inc., who has been their U.S. marketing partner for the past six years.

According to Juan Miguel Gutierrez, managing director for Gosan USA, the company has invested over $3 million to bring their sheave manufacturing to the U.S. “Once we are in full operation, we expect to have 30 new employees,” Gutierrez reported.

Because of the relationship with J.C. Renfroe as their marketing partner and due to the increased demand by crane OEMs, Gosan decided to concentrate their U.S. plant on the manufacturing their line of sheaves. “With the increase of construction in developing nations and with the movement to increase oil drilling in the U.S., we believe our market for sheaves is only going to grow,” said Gutierrez.

Gosan has been manufacturing welded machined steel sheave products in Europe since 1971. Their product lines have been used in a variety of industries including construction, marine and oil rigging.
