Grúas Aguilar, a Spanish crane operator, has placed an order for 15 new cranes from Liebherr as part of its ongoing efforts to modernise and expand its fleet.
The order includes both mobile and crawler cranes, and deliveries have already commenced, with further units scheduled for handover through to the first quarter of 2027.
Among the new machinery, Grúas Aguilar has taken delivery of the LR 1800-1.0 crawler crane, which is now the company’s most powerful unit with an 800t lifting capacity.
The LR 1800-1.0 is intended for applications such as industrial plant projects, power station construction, and work in the petrochemical sector, as well as for wind turbine installation and wind farm maintenance.
The company said the crane recently helped install the “Mayrit” tunnel-boring machine as part of the expansion of Madrid’s underground rail network.
The delivery also includes the LTM 1400-6.1 mobile crane, which offers a maximum lifting capacity of 450t and is noted as the first of its model to be supplied in Spain.
Additional units in the order comprise the LTM 1300-6.4 with a 90m telescopic boom and LICCON3 crane control system, as well as several other mobile cranes. These include the LTM 1060-3.1, LTM 1100-5.3, LTM 1090-4.3, and an MK 140-5.1E mobile construction crane.
Grúas Aguilar operates from several locations in Spain, including Madrid, Mallorca, Barcelona, and Tarragona, and is also involved in international projects.

The collaboration between Grúas Aguilar and Liebherr has been ongoing since the founding of Liebherr Ibérica in 1988.
