Hitachi Construction Machinery Middle East Corporation (HMEC) hosted the first of its Open Days/Machinery Expo on the 15th and 16th of February at its headquarters in Dubai, UAE, demonstrating a gold-painted crane.

Dealers, trading houses, and clients in the construction machinery and crane industry came from across the Middle East and North Africa for the expo.

The expo served as an occasion for demonstrating the self-assembly feature of a 200USt Hitachi Sumitomo Crawler Crane, SCX2000A-2.

Engineers from Hitachi Sumitomo Heavy Industries Construction Crane Company (HSC) demonstrated the self-assembling hook and pin designed side frame, and mounted the 80.6USt self-installing counterweights.

Celebrating HMEC’s five year anniversary and the sale of their 200th crane, HMEC painted the SCX2000A-2 gold.

The right side of the SCX2000A-2, which displayed a decal of the Japanese national flag and the slogan, "Cheer for Japan,” was painted to signal support of the victims of the 2011 earthquake.

“This uniquely decorated crane represents world support for Japan’s speedy resurgence and recovery,” HMEC said.

Additional machinery demonstrations over the two days included moving the HSC UCX 350 Crawler Crane for the purpose of showcasing its 15-degree grade ability.

The company demonstrated its Hitachi Hydraulic Mini Excavator, model ZX60USB-3F, with its left/right boom swing movements and its specialized short turning radius.

HMEC provided visitors with refreshments and a lunch buffet.

President of Hitachi Construction Machinery Middle East Corporation, Mutsumi Kitai spoke at the event. “Your presence today has already made this event a success,” he said.
