Hydraulic cylinder manufacturer Hyco International has taken over Hidrover Equipamentos Oleodinâmicos of Brazil. The price was not disclosed.

Hyco chairman and chief executive officer Richard Melrose said: ‘The acquisition of Hyco Hidrover is an important next step in our strategy to provide seamless global supply, along with the lowest delivered costs, to Hyco’s OEM customers. Many of our valued customers have significant operations in Brazil. Hyco will be able to serve them more effectively and economically by having a Brazilian presence.’ Hidrover also manufactures hydraulic cylinders. Its customers include the crane manufacturer Madal,recently acquire by Palfinger. The deal does not include Hidrover’s directional control valve business, which has been spun-off into a separate company.

Roberto Bof was appointed general manager of Hyco Hidrover. Miguel Eder, who has served as commercial director of Hidrover, remains in that position with Hyco Hidrover.
