The crane, the fourth G series SL6000 crane to be delivered out of Kobelco’s Kobe facility in Japan, was sold to BAE Systems at its Henderson shipyards, near Fremantle in Western Australia.
It was assembled in the standard heavy-duty boom configuration, with 72m of main boom, and will be used by BAE for various projects including oil and gas fabrication, load-out projects, and upgrades to RAN vessels.
The G series of cranes incorporates three energy-saving systems, including the Auto Idle Stop system which reduces overall fuel consumption by 25%.
