THE LARGEST lifting contractor and crane hire company in Scandinavia has been formed with the Kynningsrud group taking over the business of Maxlift AB on 1 April.
Kynningsrud has brought together six companies in Norway and Sweden over the past two years. The group’s crane division consists of Kynningsrud Kran AS in Norway, and Tunga Lyft AB and Kran-Elve AB in Sweden. The division has 175 employees and a budgeted turnover in 2002 of E26m.
All Maxlift employees and equipment are now part of the group’s Swedish mobile crane company Kran-Elve AB.
Kynningsrud’s crane division consists of more than 100 mobile cranes with capacities up to 500t, as well as heavy lifting systems and transportation equipment.
Project departments are being established in Norway and Sweden to take care of long-term rental and heavylift contracting. These project departments will operate under the name Maxlift and will be managed by Hans Carlsson in Sweden and Eirik Kynningsrud in Norway.
Maxlift’s previous owner, Åke Andersson, and his sales manager, Kjell Andersson, remain ‘central people’ in the new department, the company said. Maxlift will work closely with the crane hire company Tunga Lyft AB in Malmö and the rest of the departments.
Crane hire will operate as before, out of depots in Malmö, Gothenburg, Trollhättan, Stenungsund, Munkedal, Karlstad, Fredrikstad, Halden and Oslo.
The Kynningsrud group also consists of Kynningsrud Prefab and Kynningsrud Fundamentering. The whole group has 320 employees and a budgeted turnover in 2002 of E71m.
