Fratelli Ferrari model 719

Fratelli Ferrari is presenting five new models and a rebranded range on stand E24, Area 44S. Its 714 includes up to five hydraulic extensions (length: 14.6m), or four plus two-extension jib. The company claims it developed the 719 specifically for remote control. It has a Scanreco 400 control with Sauer-Danfoss PVG32 valve and ECM, and tilting outriggers and up to six hydraulic boom extensions. The 721 has up to eight extensions (to 20.6m). The 736 also has up to eight extensions, plus a power boost system for greater capacity and a soft descent valve for lowering the main boom. The company is also showing its largest-ever crane, the 990, with up to 10 extensions, or six boom plus six jib (29m of length). A shearball rotation system turns the crane with two planetary motors.

An adapted version of JLG’s 2.6t capacity Model 266 telehandler is on show, area 45 stand B/50-C/48. The ‘Lo-Pro’ has a height of 2m and overall width of just over 2m. Like the 3t capacity Model 307, it has a low boom pivot design, side-mounted engines, multi-function single joystick.

Terex PPM is unveiling an improved AC 55 three-axle all-terrain crane. The company claims that a new telescoping system has lowered axle weight and increased lifting capacity. For example, the crane’s maximum capacity at 10m radius with 40m of boom is 9.6t, which the company says is a 20% improvement over the previous model. With a main boom of 40m, the AC 55.1’s maximum tip height is 58m. It contrasts with an existing variant, the AC 55 L, which has a 44m boom. It also has a similar name to the AC 55 City, a Demag City-class rough terrain crane.

Terex Italia reports that it will begin production of a third crawler crane in addition to the TCC 45, shown at SAIE 2005, and the TCC 40, scheduled to be shown this year. (The TCC 40 extends its boom to a maximum length of 27.5m, and its final stage is a manual extension.) The third new model to begin production this year is the TCC 60.

Terex Comedil is exhibiting tower cranes on its stand F/120 in area 48.
