In his new position, Bratthauar will report to John Wheeler, executive vice president for the Americas, and will take charge of all strategic and tactical procurement for the company’s manufacturing plants in the region.

A seasoned senior executive with the company, Bratthauar has nearly 25 years experience at MCG. He has served in a number of key senior management positions, making significant contributions in a variety of roles in customer support, global procurement, manufacturing, materials, and sales and marketing.

Most recently, he served as general manager of National Crane where he managed the integration of the product line at the MCG facility in Shady Grove, Pennsylvania, while simultaneously directing sales and engineering functions.

Wheeler said: “We are delighted to appoint Ted to this key position within our organization. He has extensive experience in the field of procurement and this, combined with his experience from operations-related positions, uniquely qualifies him to meet the challenges this post brings.”

Bratthauar holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame and a master’s degree in business administration from Northwestern University.

Meanwhile, David Hardin has joined Manitowoc Crane CARE’s America’s management team as general manager of remanufacturing operations.

He will work from the Manitowoc Crane CARE remanufacturing operation in Bauxite, Arkansas, US, and oversee a variety of operations including lattice and mobile hydraulic crane rebuilds, component repair, reconditioning programs, used parts and component rebuild, and exchange activities.

Hardin will report to Scott Alexander, general manager of Manitowoc Crane CARE Americas, and will provide leadership and strategic direction for the development and growth of the remanufacturing business.

Hardin takes over from Ron Schumacher, who is retiring after 20 years in the industry. Schumacher will remain with Manitowoc remanufacturing as a consultant.

Alexander said: “Manitowoc remanufacturing became a great success during Ron’s tenure and he played a major role in making it such a well-run enterprise.”

He added: “However, we are certain David will continue Ron’s good work and the future for our remanufacturing sector is looking very bright.”

Hardin has extensive experience in directing remanufacturing operations, having done so at Komatsu America and Cummins Engine. Hardin has also taught at the University of Kentucky, Gatton School of Business and Midway College in Midway, Kentucky. He holds a bachelor of arts degree in political science, and an MBA in finance, both from Ohio State University.
