Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI)has developed a new range of mobile harbor crane, MMHC-13. MMHC-13 has a maximum capacity of 65t (under hook) and maximum outreach of 53m.
The MMHC-13 is designed to handle panamax-sized vessels with containers stacked 13-wide and 5-high on deck, without interfering with the fifth container stacked on the first row of the vessel. It can reach all containers of 10,000dwt vessel without changing the position of the crane. The chassis is capable of diagonal travelling, to make it more manoeuvrable.
Although no sales have been made yet, MHI said that is was in negotiation with several potential customers.
