Loader cranes designed for duty cycle work and the extra stresses of grabbing operations are often used by streetworks contractors as ‘muck away’ units, grabbing spoil from the roadside and dumping it in the truck. From Epsilon Crane, the division of Palfinger better known for its forestry cranes, is the E100L 67, seen here fitted with a Palfinger PZG-500 bulk material grab. This unit can gather up loads from close up or up to 8m away from the vehicle. The behind the cab stand-up controls on either side of the crane give the operator a clear view into the vehicle body.
