Tian revealed that the company has recently bought a new factory in its hometown of Fushun. The 120,000 sq m plant will be used to build a new series of crawler cranes, starting with 55t and 80t models. Previously, the site had been used to build components for general construction plant.
The news came at a dinner, held after the company had shown journalists and attendees of the China-Japan-Korea Crane Safety Symposium around its Beijing production facility, used to manufacture saddle jib tower cranes. The Beijing plant was established forty years ago, and has been owned by Yongmao for more than ten years. The company’s original plant in Fushun manufactures topless tower cranes.
In a speech before dinner, the company’s Beijing operations manager, Dong Si Jun, stressed the build quality of the company’s cranes (on the tour, visitors had been invited to inspect the quality of lattice section welds produced at the factory). Dong said that Yongmao employs more than 520 workers, including 70 development and knowledge professionals. It can produce more than 170 cranes annually.
Around 85% of the firm’s capacity is exported, to countries including the US, UK, Belgium, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Malaysia. In China, they have been used on high profile sites, including the ‘Birds Nest’ Olympic Stadium.
