THE FIRST three of a total order of eight Favco tower cranes have been delivered to New York Crane and Equipment Company in the USA. New York Crane, based in Brooklyn, ordered the M760 diesel hydraulic luffing jib tower cranes from Favco distributor TES Inc in New Jersey.
‘There is a need for high speed, larger capacity diesel hydraulic luffing boom cranes with up to date technology in Chicago, Boston, New York and throughout the Northeast, said James Lomma, owner of New York Cranes.
Powering the M760 is a 535hp (400kW) Caterpillar 3406 diesel engine. Maximum boom length is 240ft (73m), capacities are 35 ton at a 25ft radius (32t@7.6m) and 5 ton at 230ft (4.5t@70m).
Maximum speed of the main winch is up to 396ft/min (120m/min) and the fly winch goes to 646ft/min (200m/min) with a 6 ton load and 30ft/min with its 13 ton rated capacity.
