Ed Samera, general manager of Terex Aerials, has been promoted to vice president in charge of quality and product support, North America, for all Terex Lifting.
Suggesting that the creation of the new position was in response to customer criticism, Terex Lifting president Fil Filipov said: “We have made significant improvements in product quality and support but our customers are right in expecting and receiving even higher quality performance and better product support. Having Ed Samera in this new dedicated postition will result in the focus necessary to attain our goals in these important areas.” Robert Halls, formerly managing director of Terex Aerials Ltd, Ireland, succeeds Samera as vice president and general manager of Terex Aerials Inc.
• Bruce Dawes, 57, has been appointed to the board of UK rental company Baldwins Industrial Services as group managing director. He joined Baldwins in May 1998 as group operations director from Southampton Container Terminals, where he had been managing director since 1990.
• Richard Mueller is senior vice president and general manager of Omniquip’s newly formed corporate business division. At subsidiary company Snorkel, Alan Oswald becomes sales training coordinator.
• Bob Webster joins Atlas Hydraulic Loaders Ltd as managing director. He joins from access equipment manufacture JLG, where he was managing director of the European division. He will be based at Atlas’s newly expanded factory in Lanarkshire, Scotland.
• Phoenix Corporation, US manufacturer os Skyhook, Sponco and Skyhoist aerial equipment, has appointed Robert McCarn as plant manager.
• John Brindley, managing director of Brindley Chains, is chairman of the Lifting Equipment Engineers Association.
