Sinopec to buy XCMG megacrawler

Chinese state petrol firm Sinopec has agreed to buy XCMG's giant 3,600t XCG88000 crawler. XCMG says it is the first ever deal for the sale of a production crawler crane of this size.

The two companies have been working together recently to develop larger cranes.

The collaboration comes as part of a Chinese government back programme of integrated contracting and in-depth prefabrication for major construction projects emergence of China's large crane .


The XGC88000 was developed to meet demand from the petrochemical, oil, nuclear power and chemical industries.

XCMG says it sets records for crane capacity. The company says the sale marks the emergence of Chinese cranebuilders as world-class players in the large crane manufacturing.
