Spierings always sent engineers from its factory in the Netherlands, but as the number of Spierings cranes in the UK is expanding it wanted to enhance its local service capabilities.
The manufacturer will still send engineers from its factory but it has also employed its own engineer in the UK.
Spierings appointed Peterborough-based Crowland Cranes as its workshop service partner in the UK. Crowland Cranes will work in close contact to the service department at the Spierings factory.
A cooperation with several preferred DAF-dealers was also established. These mobility partners are located in Bristol, Peterborough, Birmingham, London, Edinburgh and Huyton. They can assist with service on the DAF engines and have a 24-7 mobility service by ITS.
Spierings is delivering parts with ‘next day delivery’ from the factory in The Netherlands. There is also a take away stock with the most urgent parts located at the workshop of Crowland Cranes in Peterborough.
The fleet of Spierings cranes abroad is growing fast. Two months ago Spierings delivered its 1,000th crane. A large share of the Spierings fleet is located in Europe. “To meet the high standards of service in combination with the growing fleet abroad, Spierings is investing in more service solutions in several countries,” the manufacturer said.
Earlier this year, we visited Spierings’s modern manufacturing facility in Oss, and interviewed commercial director Koos Spierings about the new hybrid City Boy and the market for mobile tower cranes.
