Weldex, the UK crawler crane rental specialist, has won a contract to supply cranes to one of London’s biggest projects.
Skanska Cementation (formerly part of Trafalgar House) has turned to Weldex for a minimum of 12 cranes to be on site for at least 33 weeks on its Stratford Box project.
The Stratford Box is a key section (contract 232) of a new high speed rail link being built between London and the Channel Tunnel. Stratford, in east London, will be the site of an international passenger station.
The contract includes construction of the 1km long box in the ground, which will carry rail lines and support the passenger station.
The first cranes go on site in Late May/early June, said Weldex chairman Dougie McGilvray.
