The new all terrain plugs a gap in the company’s G-series of global all terrains, falling between the 110t ATF 110G-5 and 160t ATF 160G-5. The chassis is available in 10 x 6 x 10 or 10 x 8 x 10 drive/steer configuration. All wheel steering is possible, without the need to lift an axle for crab steering.

The upper carries a 60m long boom, extended by a single hydraulic cylinder. The boom can be extended from its shortest to its longest position in approximately 400 seconds. The boom extension is available in 10m or 18m minimum length, extendible to 32m, in either hydraulic or mechanical versions.

In taxi configuration, the ATF 130-G5 can carry 6t of counterweight, a 10m/18m extension, 63t hook block and 10t swivel hook, on a 10 x 8 x 10 chassis with large 16.00 R 25 tyres, within 12t per axle weight limits.

The prototype crane is currently undergoing testing at Tadano Faun’s facility in Lauf, Germany. It will soon be shipped to Japan for its international introduction.

The HK70 is, Tadano Faun says, the only 70t five axle truck mounted crane manufactured in Germany. The crane was developed at the request of Netherlands-based international heavy lift and transport specialists Mammoet, but is now available to other customers.

The 70t crane carries a maximum 15t counterweight, 19m/16m extension, 32t hook block and 10t swivel block, at a gross vehicle weight of 52t. This allows around 2t within the maximum roadable GVW of 54t for further options, such as lifting tackle.
