Tadano Faun has given demonstrations to customers of its new ATF 60-4 which will be officially introduced at the Bauma fair in Munich this spring.

The ATF 60-4 is described as a compact taxi crane. It sits on four axles, has a 60t rated capacity and is able to carry its own counterweights.

Tadano Faun sales manager Paul Brown said that it had been “specially developed to meet stringent road and safety regulations worldwide”.

The 8x4x8 machine (8x6x8 optional) is just 2.5m wide, 11.7m long and 3.65m high. It comes fully equipped with a 40.2m main boom, 9.0 to 16.0 telescopic jib, two Mercedes Euro 2 engines, a 16 speed transmission, 32t hook block and 15t counterweight, together making a gross vehicle weight of 48t.

Though designed as a 60t crane, dealers report that its strong lifting chart makes it closer to Tadano Faun’s 70t crane than its 50t crane.

The Bauma show runs from 30 March to 5 April’98.
