The development, called Twin Centro, is a 16-storey apartment building with two towers, and is located in the Sanchaung Township of Yangon.
The cranes are equipped with a shortened jib for the project, and were supplied by Liebherr Singapore in mid-2014.
Shwe Taung requested the shortened jib modification on the standard configuration of the 280 EC-H 12, said Mike Tay, sales manager at Liebherr Singapore’s tower crane division:
"The development is on a particularly busy road, opposite one of Yangon’s leading hospitals, and the twin tower blocks are located very close to the road. Shwe Taung asked us to modify the jib to prevent it over-sailing the road.
"Together with our partner Octagon International Services Co — responsible for promoting Liebherr tower cranes and providing aftersales and training — we found the ideal solution for the site, providing a jib with a maximum 40m length and a tip load of 7.6t.
"The maximum load of 12t will be handled in two-fall reeving and can be taken out to 26m."
The crane is a climbing model and has been positioned at the front of the structure between the two towers, which are connected at the rear of the building. The project is due to be completed in late 2015.
