James Equipment, the recently-appointed Australian distributor for Tadano cranes, has delivered a Tadano GT 550E truck crane to Queensland-based Hinspeter Cranes.
The shipment was James Equipment’s first sale for Tadano and also the first GT 550E sold in Australia.
The GT 550E is rated at 55t and has a telescopic main boom that extends to 42m and a maximum jib extension of 14.6m.
To mark the occasion of this landmark for Tadano in Australia, Tadano International Headquarters general manager Minoru Sakuta travelled to Australia for the handover, which was made at the annual conference of the Crane Industry Council of Australia, being held in Melbourne.
Owned by Greg Hinspeter, Hinspeter Cranes operates a rental company in Townsville, Queensland, servicing the construction, mining and engineering sectors.
Brendan James of James Equipment explains the GT 550E was chosen: “There are some big distances to cover in Queensland, so the 83km/h ground speed of the Tadano was important to our customer,” Brendan said. “The versatility of the hydraulic truck mounted crane and 42m boom were also key factors behind the purchase. Overall the low purchase price of the Tadano GT 550E over an all terrain crane and lower maintenance costs of the Tadano proved the Tadano to be the best deal going. Our client Hinspeter Cranes is a very happy customer.”
