Manitowoc’s Grove GMK5150XLe plug-in hybrid all-terrain crane will make its UK debut at the forthcoming Vertikal Days trade show in September. The crane, which was launched at Bauma earlier this year, has a capacity of 150 tonnes and a 68.7 metre, seven-section boom. Its performance matches the diesel-powered Grove GMK5150XL. The crane offers fully electric mode and its 160 kWh battery pack can be charged while driving.

Also at Vertikal Days, Manitowoc will showcase a fully refurbished Hydrocon 15 tonne Clansman crane from the 1970s. Hydrocon was a crane company founded in Glasgow, Scotland, in the 1940s and ceased operations in the late 1980s. The crane was restored under Manitowoc’s EnCORE programme on behalf of J&D Pierce Contracts.

A Grove GMK3050-3 will also be on the stand. Manitowoc says the 50 tonne capacity all-terrain crane is known for its fast road speeds, its ability to be quickly set up on jobsites, and for its simplicity – operating as a single package with no support vehicles required. The model on display is owned by Isle of Man-based Mann Crane Hire.

Manitowoc will be located at Stand 419.
