SSAB Oxelösund has introduced what it claims is the world’s strongest structural plate – Weldox 1300. “With a strength of 1300MPa, Weldox 1300 boasts the highest yield strength of any quenched and tempered steel on the market,” it says.
“The ultra-strong properties of Weldox 1300 mean applications such as cranes can be made lighter yet carry heavier loads,” the company adds.
Weldable, bendable, and suitable for cutting, Weldox 1300 builds on Weldox 1100 (yield strength 1100MPa), which was introduced in 1997.
