This is a new lock management approach developed by ZF engineers after trials and field tests. Whereas differential locks in the past were only engaged when needed, nowadays they are engaged continuously. This innovation protects driveline components and tyres. Furthermore, it provides a platform for achieving considerable fuel savings.

The functionality of off highway vehicles is increasingly determined by their software, ZF says. Optimum functionality for different vehicle types and operating conditions can only be ensured by intelligent software solutions.
