Finnish crane manufacturer Konecranes is extending its Generation 6 mobile harbour crane family with the Gottwald Mobile Harbor Crane ESP.4.
The new crane is the smallest in size of the range. This, says Konecranes, offers manoeuvrability and flexibility. Despite its small size it can still reach up to ten container rows, with 30 tonnes lifting capacity under spreader on container vessels of Feeder class up to Standard class.
For project cargo it offers up to 100 t of lifting capacity.
For general cargo, it offers up to 63 t with a radius of 24 m and hoisting speeds of up to 120 m/min.
For continuous-duty bulk handling it offers a motor grab curve of up to 34 t in the A8 classification up to 25 m to handle up to 850 tph.
According to Konecranes these are unprecedented performance figures for a mobile harbour crane of this size.
“Many smaller seaside and river ports are ready for multi-purpose operations,” says Jörg Müller, vice president, mobile harbour cranes, Konecranes. “They’re seeing growing volumes of containers, bulk and general and project cargo, and looking for the right kind of equipment to get the manoeuvrability and flexibility they need to succeed. We believe it’s time for them to seriously consider the mobile harbour crane concept, invented by Konecranes and now adapted to the Konecranes Gottwald ESP.4… The ESP.4 is the ideal piece of equipment for their future growth.”
