Cranes and lifting in Las Vegas

23 January 2017

This year’s big show is ConExpo in Las Vegas. In this issue, we look at a selection of the crane exhibitors at the show. In February, we will have more cranes, along with related lifting and special transport equipment.

This spring, the crane and construction industry will come together in Las Vegas for the year’s big show. ConExpo.

The US Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM), the show’s organisers, says that this year’s event will feature more than 2,500 exhibitors, spread over 2,500,000 sq ft of space. Almost 700 companies will be exhibiting at ConExpo for the first time. As well as the stands with new equipment, visitors will be able to take part in more than 150 education sessions.

This year, ConExpo will feature a new 75,000 sq ft Tech Experience that promises to offer an ‘immersive’ look at the future of construction, including innovations ranging from solar-powered roadways, to data visualization and interactivity, to the first-ever 3D printed excavator, as well as drones, robotics, and intelligence advancements. Alongside a 3D print shop, the Tech Experience features three pavilions asking, ‘What’s next?’ for jobsites, infrastructure, and the construction workforce, alongside a series of ‘tech talks’.

The Tech Experience space will host a live charity auction on the Thursday of the show, benefiting the Call of Duty Endowment, the official charitable partner for ConExpo 2017. The Call of Duty Endowment is a nonprofit organization that helps veterans secure high-quality jobs after their military service. Other opportunites to give include a silent auction and a concert by Foreigner, sponsored by Terex.
