Manitowoc’s president and CEO Glen Tellock chaired the ConExpo 2014 show management committee. He says, "ConExpo is the destination where the global construction industry meets every three years. At ConExpo, attendees will find the leading manufacturers and service providers plus the latest technologies for cranes, as well as all types of construction equipment. The show’s global scope underscores our strategic planning and makes ConExpo a true international marketplace in North America."
Show organiser the AEM has worked to develop the show as a marketplace for construction companies around the region, not just in the USA. Al Cervero, vice president and construction sector lead, says, "AEM works to promote trade opportunities worldwide, and this includes the platform of ConExpo. Bringing together buyers and sellers, connecting qualified businesses with the right customers, is a vital activity of AEM and ConExpo. For example, AEM has conducted numerous member trade missions to Latin America. We have hosted groups from the region to the U.S. to meet member companies at their company facilities and we gather multiple members in a central location for quick learning sessions with Latin American customers.
"ConExpo has been recognized as the most global of all trade expositions in North America. At the last show, held in 2011, a record 24 percent of registrants was international, from more than 150 countries, with Latin American visitors well represented. The show has increased outreach to South and Central America In recognition of the valuable trade opportunities in the region for its exhibitors. We have international specialists who work with in-country industry representatives to help promote the show and its benefits. We work with the U.S. Dept. of Commerce to recruit official trade delegations to attend and we provide exhibitors with services such as export counseling, market analysis and matchmaking. At the show, Latin American and all international visitors will have access to the show’s onsite International Trade Center to further connect and do business.
"AEM and its members feel the Latin American market is so important that we are launching ConExpo Latin America to better facilitate business connections for contractors who are unable to attend ConExpo but value the direct interaction with the industry leaders and engineers, as it too will be a manufacturer-driven show, with the newest products available. The show is set for October 2015 in Santiago, Chile."
