15 September 2008

Three new Tai'an Dongyue truck cranes are launching on the stand, the GT-10, with a 10t capacity; GT-18, with an 18t capacity; and the GT-25, with a 25t capacity.

“Although the new truck cranes from Manitowoc Dongyue are currently for the Chinese market only, by launching them at Bauma China we are sending a message that we are on the road to building international- quality truck cranes at this facility,” said Gilles Martin, executive vice president for Manitowoc in Asia-Pacific. “This show is a great opportunity for our customers to learn about our intentions in the truck crane market in China and beyond.”

Manitowoc created the joint venture with Tai’an Dongyue Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd. earlier this year. The new business and products resulting from the partnership are known as Manitowoc Dongyue. The cranes on show at bauma China will be the GT-10, with a 10 t capacity; GT-18, with an 18 t capacity; and the GT-25, with a 25 t capacity.

Also to be displayed is the MCR225A from Potain, a 14 t capacity tower crane manufactured at Manitowoc’s factory in Zhangjiagang, China. This is the crane’s first appearance at a trade show in China. From Grove, there will be an RT9130, a 120 t capacity rough-terrain crane, the largest in the Grove range.

Manitowoc Crane Care, the customer service division, will highlight Crane Star, its upcoming remote monitoring system; its contact centre with live call Webcam demonstration; and its latest technical publications which will be available in different languages.

Manitowoc's booth covers 700 sq m, significantly larger than two years ago, the US-based manufacturer said.
