In January 2006, Caterpillar and JLG formed a dedicated global alliance team in sales, marketing, product support, and engineering to develop and deliver an aggressive alliance plan.
In July and October 2006, Cat telehandlers began shipping to Caterpillar dealers across Europe, Africa, Middle East from Belgium and to North and South America from McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania.
“The October shipments for the Americas, when coupled with the European redesign and shipments of the B-Series, marked significant milestones for the alliance,” said Craig Paylor, Senior Vice President – Marketing, JLG Industries, Inc. “Development of a completely new Cat telehandler product designed specifically for the America’s market was the top priority at JLG. We were extremely pleased that the production for both the B-Series and the TL-Series telehandlers began ahead of plan.”
“Ensuring product quality and enhancing the Caterpillar brand are critical success factors of the alliance. Through our integrated alliance team, we continue to diligently monitor and focus on being the leader in terms of after-sale support and reliability. Comments to date have been very positive,” said Mike Rafi, JLG’s General Manager CAT Alliance Group.
Ed Rapp, Vice President of Caterpillar’s Building Construction Products Division (BCP) stated, “We’re very pleased with the progress of our strategic alliance with JLG. The Alliance is committed to providing our Caterpillar dealers throughout the world with premium, quality telehandlers to support their channels to market.”
