Bigge Equipment, a division of Bigge Crane & Rigging of San Leandro, California, has acquired Santa Fe Equipment Company, its third acquisition in four years.
The deal gives Bigge more than 60 additional cranes and three more locations: Salt Lake City, Denver and Walnut, southern California.
“We intend to integrate Santa Fe Equipment’s customer base and knowledge of the Colorado and Utah areas and continue to serve clients in Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Kansas and New Mexico. We will supplement the new locations with additional cranes from our California operations,” said Bigge Equipment president Reid Settlemier.
Santa Fe Equipment, established in Southern California in 1953, is also the Tadano and Terex dealer in Utah and Colorado. The bulk of the Santa Fe Equipment fleet consists of late model Tadanos, Terex P&H, Loraine, Manitex, Grove, and RO Stinger cranes in a complete range of sizes from 7.5 US ton to 90 US ton capacity.
Santa Fe is Bigge’s third acquisition in four years following the purchase of Shaughnessy in 1996 and Concord Crane & Rentals in 1997.
